Aesthetically Pleasing Design

Meet Hamza Hatim a 29 years old Art Director based in Germany and learn what a remarkable attitude he has towards working with his clients. Let’s see the attention heatmaps of his designs.

What is your favorite project you’ve ever done and why?

My favorite project is “Piacetto”, a branding project I did at university.

I liked working on this project because we were mentored by Jan Kruse, Creative Director, and Managing Director at Ligalux Hamburg.

It was a great learning experience, I started with a one-page brief and ended up with a presentation of 20 pages that contains an idea, a logo, and 3 packaging designs.

What do you base your design decisions on?

When I am working on a design project, I always try to put myself in the place of the person for whom the design is intended.

All my decision are motivated by a desire to make his life better.

I used my knowledge to create a design element that not only serves a purpose or solves a problem but also aesthetically pleasing.

How do you handle a situation when you do not agree with the client?

I handle it by giving the client various options to choose from. For every project, I always work on three proposals.

In the first one, I do literally what the clients ask for.

In the second one, I work as if I was my own client, I forget about all constraints.

In the third one, I work hard to find a sweet spot between what the client wants and what I as a designer see is the best execution of what he wants.

In the end, as a designer, I deal with clients from almost every field, we don’t always have the same background, that’s why I believe it’s my job to reach towards the client’s perspective.
